Types Of Surgery For Pancreatic Tumors.

September 27th, 2008 | by admin |

Once it has been diagnosed and the doctor feels that the pancreatic tumors are operable, he then has to decide on which type of surgery would be best for the patient. The types of surgeries that can be done include the whipple procedure, intravenous feeding used after a surgery, stent, duodenum bypass to clear the blockage, bile duct bypass to clear the blockage, total pancreatectomy, and the distal pancreatectomy. The doctor will have to weigh the condition the patient is in to see if they can even withstand a surgery and then he will make the decision on which procedure is best for the patient.
