The main causes of this type of cancer growth are age, a fat rich diet and cholesterol. The cancer may also result from inflammatory bowel disease. Things like genetic predisposition that include, hereditary polyposis and nonpolyposis syndromes can also cause colorectal cancer.

The colorectal cancer can be cured with the help of 5-fluorouracil, leucovorin and Pathophysiology. All these treatment options are available at different cancer centers like, Roswell Park Cancer Institute and University of Chicago Hospitals.
