Components Of Laser Eye Surgery Procedure

June 9th, 2008 | by admin |

A physician, computer and ultraviolet beam are three of the primary components of a laser eye surgery procedure. The patient’s cornea is mapped out in the computer. The physician enters several more patient data to give the computer the information it needs to calculate the surgery. The patient is given an eye drop anesthetic to numb the pain. Once ready, the procedure starts and the computer directs the beam’s intensity and orientation to remove the distortions in the patient’s cornea. This procedure takes less than a minute. Thirty minutes after completion, the patient may drive home and return to work the following day. This is the reason why laser eye surgery procedures cost a lot. Don’t believe cheap advertisements.
