How do I go about filing for a disability settlement from the VA?

My father in law has various injuries from his time in the Army and has asked me to go about filing his disability settlement through the VA. I have his medical records (civilian & army), but I don’t know where to go from here. I know there’s a website out there that I can start to get the ball rolling, just not sure what the site is.

Any point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

Irene

Most larger cities have a veterans affairs officer, if none available your local VFW, AMVETS, or American Legion will be able to assist you
