How much does your monthly Social Security Disability pay?
I know it depends on how long you worked, but How much is it in dollars? Like what it a person worked for 5 or 10 years before they started getting disability? About how much would they get a month? And I assume you also get food stamps in addition to the disability payments? Is that true? Or do they expect the person to use their disability payments for food?

The amount of your Social Security depends on how much money you made. If you made $100k a year your monthly amount will be more than the person that made $12k a year.
Food Stamps is distributed through the State you live in. You have to fill out an application to see if you qualify.
Funny question, If you do not qualify for Food Stamps than you should expect to pay for food.

Social Security is controlled by the Federal Government and Food Stamp programs are controlled by the State in which you reside. If you live in Texas you call 211 and get the info you need or go to your local Health and Human Resources Center.

IF you get S.S.I. that will also be a factor in the amount you receive. It can only be a total of so much..

I don’t know if time affects how much you get, but I know that I worked for only a few years at a good paying job, and I make a more that some people, I don’t qualify for food stamps because my SSDI is too much, and I don’t qualify for SSI (supplemental income) because I make too much, sad thing is I can pay all my bills, because of the amount of I do make… and I will not say how much I do make because it is a private thing, I don’t think anyone needs to know the figure amount I make.

Like I said not everyone who is on disability can get food stamps, but if you aren’t getting food stamps you can maybe get to go to a food pantry to help get food to eat.

There are great calculators on the SSA website. The amount of Social Security Disability you receive is based on your income when you became disabled.

Look mid-page the disability calculator is there:

      Good luck!
