The diabetes insipidus treatment in most cases may comprise of the patient drinking plenty of water to make up for the loss. Also some drugs like desmopressin may be used if the patient experiences inadequate thirst. If the situation worsens then the patient may be admitted to the hospital to make up for the loss of fluids. There are also surgical procedures available to treat diabetes insipidus. Pituitary surgery is the most recommended option to treat the condition.
