It is most comon in young adult girls who percieve themselves to be ugly in inadequate in some way. It is so sad to see these beautiful young women detroy their bodies in pursuit of thinness. The effects of anorexia can include some very permament effects besides just weight loss. The ability to concieve or see a pregnancy full term can be lost, and in some cases patients are left unable to eat properlyr, and even wheel chair bound.
