Using Essential Oils for Cold and Flu Season

December 4th, 2007 | by admin |

Everyone knows that wintertime is cold and flu season. But many people don't like to get a flu shot or just want to fight the cold or flu naturally. Antiviral essential oils can go a long way to helping you fight off the common cold or even the flu. The agents in these essential oils have natural anti-viral properties and can kill most germs on contact. You can use some of these oils topically and allow them to soak into your skin. Others, you can take a few drops (and only a few drops! Don't overuse essential oils as they are very concentrated!) in a glass of fresh water (don't use tap water) to help boost your immune system and to kill germs that may be floating around in your body. Essential oils are natural and have little or few side effects. But, be aware, that certain people may be allergic to some of the oils contained in these essential oils so read the label carefully to see exactly which plants are used in the essential oil.
