What is a global impairment concerning disability?

I had longterm disability insurance at work. I was out on short term disability for 13 weeks and my benefits ran out; however, i also had longterm benefits that should have covered the additional time off. They turned down my claim because i didn’t have a global impairment. I was supposed to have coverage if i couldn’t perform my normal job, not have to suffer a total disability to collect. I had to go back to work, still drugged up, and not at my regular job. What’s the deal with these insurance idiots, I payed premiums for 16 years, but they are not keeping their end of the contract.I never heard of a global impairment.

Usually the wait for long term disability is closer to 6 months, not three months.

In any case, “global impairment” means you can’t perform ANY job. What you THINK you have doesn’t count. You have to read the policy.
