My wife just got approved for disability after 5 years. We are trying to estimate what her monthly benefit will be. She is 26 and has had no work experience, due to her disability. Any ideas on what to expect?????

Ask Social Security.

I’m not totally positive, but with no work history I think it will be really low, like $300 per month. Disability benefits are dependent to an extent on how much you’ve earned during your work years. She probably hasn’t received a statement from the Social security Administration because of the fact she hasn’t worked, but they do send out annual statements as to what your estimated benefits would be if you were to be disabled or die as of the day of that notice. You probably want to check out the Social security administration’s website for further info.

no work history = no ssi tax paid in
no tax premiums paid in = no insurance
at best not much in binifits to collect .
I know of one woman who did work and only got $324 per month. and had to pay income tax on that

Not good news. Very low. Same as welfare but might get free medical care. Might be for medicaid and food stamps.
